InterForm400 Analysis and Conversion Report Aid (PTF)

The InterForm400 Analysis and Conversion Report Aid (PTF) is an IF400 configuration extraction tool, used to help with the NG2 conversion process. The tool will analyze the InterForm400 and extract the configuration incl. comprehensive usage details into csv and xml-files. The tool is supposed to aid in the initial assessment of a customers installation in order to get a clear understanding of the complexity and to be able to estimate and plan a conversion project.

In order to use this, download the relevant PTF from below:
Installation

Install the PTF as described in PTF install (interform400.com) on the customers machine. 
Activation

After the installation, run the command APF3812/EXTAFCCFG.
Functionality

The command APF3812/EXTAFCCFG will generate files in the /APF3812Home/Temp folder:

  • ANZ_OVERLAYS.CSV contains overlay names on the system and the last date of usage.

  • ANZ_QUEUES.CSV contains queue names on the system with number of steps, command types, form types along with the last date of usage.

  • ANZ_REFQUEUES.CSV contains queue names on the system which uses reference queues.

  • ANZ_EXITPGMS.CSV contains exit program names used in different areas of the system together with where and when last used.

  • ANZ_AFC_[Queue]_[Lib].XML contains entire AFC workflow from configured AFC queues."

Use these files to get an idea of the amount of work needed to convert or recreate NG2 workflow and resource usage.
The 
ANZ_SYSLOG.CSV and ANZ_AFC_[Queue]_[Lib]_[Filename].IF1
 files contains the collected trace data, if that have been activated.
Trace Logging

The PTF will also give you an option to activate an advanced logging functionality.
To activate the trace, run the command APF3812/STRAFCTRC.

The trace will generate files in the /APF3812Home/Temp folder:

  • ANZ_SYSLOG.CSV contains logged AFC steps from monitored output queues.

  • ANZ_AFC_[Queue]_[Lib]_[Filename].IF1 contains saved spool files, if SAVE(*YES) is specified on the APF3812/STRAFCTRC command.


To stop the trace, run the command APF3812/ENDAFCTRC.

  • While the trace is active, the AFC logs all steps in the workflow.

  • While the trace is active and SAVE(*YES) is specified, the AFC logs all steps in the workflow and saves spool files upon entering, and on split and copy functions.

  • Stopping the trace, will stop the AFC from logging.

Additional Notes

  • You can specify ZIPPATH on the APF3812/EXTAFCCFG command to save the extracted config in a ZIP fil, eg. 

    APF3812/EXTAFCCFG ZIPPATH('[MyPath]/[MyConfig].zip')

  • You can also specify ZIPPATH on the APF3812/ENDAFCTRC command to save the collected trace in a ZIP fil, eg. 

    APF3812/ENDAFCTRC ZIPPATH('[MyPath]/[MyTrace].zip')

  • We recommend to save the files from /APF3812Home/Temp/ANZ_AFC_*, export them and analyze them on an internal machine
