In the InterFormNG2 license screen the machine information might be missing if you are running InterFormNG2 on the Windows platform.
If the machine information is missing, then you will see a license screen like below:
In the bottom both the System ID and Vendor are blank.
This issue can be solved in two ways depending on the Windows version.
In older versions of Windows you can simply start up the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) service and ensure, that it is started whenever the machine is started:
On newer Windows machines WMIC is used instead of WMI and WMIC might not even be installed.
You can install WMIC as an optional feature in Windows. You can do that in this manner:
1. Start up the Settings app in Windows and you now see this:
2. As shown above you now should search for 'optional features' and then click 'View features' on the very right next to 'Add an optional feature'.
3. Now search for 'WMIC' in the pop-up window:
- and select this feature and click 'next' (and then 'add') to install WMIC.
Please note: You are unable to find WMIC if it has already been added.
4. Now you need to wait for WMIC to be fully added. This might take a couple of minutes. You will see this while it is added:
The final step is to restart the InterFormNG2 service and then you can see the machine information like below:
