Selecting the printer on IBM i
On the IBM i platform InterFormNG2 behaves a bit differently compared to other platforms, when it comes to printers:
- The supported printer mime types are limited to Direct protocol, PCL and ZPL i.e. Driverprint and Postscript are not supported on the IBM i platform.
- It is possible to connect with the printer without producing an output spooled file and printing via OS400. The other connection types can also be used.
- The XML file produced by Spool2XML contains a special JOBINFORMATION subtree, which includes a lot of information of the original job and spooled file, that generated the original XML. This job information can be used e.g. for deciding the target printer in the workflow.
