Installing the preview client
As an aid to the designer you can choose to install a preview client. The preview client works together with the designer and constantly merge the current template with the selected sample file in the designer.
The preview client can e.g. be used, if you have a PC with two screens. Then the preview client can run on one of the screens while you run the designer on the other screen.
The preview client does not need to be installed on the same machine as InterFormNG2.
A link for the preview client can be provided by request to your local InterForm support.
The preview client is distributed as a .exe file and it can be installed on a Windows PC.
When you run the installer you will see this:
Click Next to proceed to the next screen:
On the screen above you need to click I accept the agreement and then Next to continue to the next screen:
On the screen above the default path is suggested as the installation path for the preview client. You can change that if needed. Click Next to continue:
On the screen above you are prompted for the path where the data and configuration of the preview client should be stored. The default path is the same as for InterformNG2.
Warning: Before you go with the suggested path above: Please notice, that the ProgramData folder often is a hidden folder, so you may need to change the view in Windows File Explorer in order to see this. You can e.g. chose to ‘unhide’ it, or decide to ‘display hidden folders’.
You can change the suggested path if needed. Click Next for the next screen:
On the screen above you are also prompted for the Start Menu folder to use in Windows. InterFormNG2 is default, but you can change it if you want. Click Next to continue to the last screen before the install:
Here the settings of the installation is shown and you can now confirm and do the actual installation by clicking Install. You can of course also abandon the install with Cancel or go back and correct various settings.
After the install the screen above is shown to confirm, that the preview client has been installed. Click Finish to close the installer.
