This section describes how to use remote clients in the InterFormNG2 workflow.
The remote client can be used for these kinds of output in the workflow:
1.Print on remote printers, that are only reachable via the remote client(s)
2.Email via email servers, that are only reachable via remote client(s).
3.Create output files (e.g. PDF) on the server(s), that are running the remote client(s).
After that you can add printers in InterFormNG2, that are only known on the remote client.
When you want to configure a printer, that is reached via a remote client, then you first need to determine which location ID, that is defined on the remote client, that you want to use.
Now you can add a printer in InterFormNG2, that refers to a location ID via a remote client:
On the tenant you can add a printer via Settings and printers and here activate: Connect via remote output client like below:
(Below only the System/OS printers are described. The other connection methods are covered here.)
For the actual printing you can e.g. use the print workflow component.
Location
The location a drop down list of the available locations (each remote client has a location ID in the configuration). This is a list of all remote clients, that has successfully connected to the tenant.
This is relevant only for System/OS printers, that are defined on the server, that is running the remote client. This is a drop down list of all printers, that are defined on the server, that is running the remote client as selected under location above.
Name
The name to use for the remote printer.
Mime type
Here you select the type of print data stream, that is sent to the printer. You can select between PCL for laser printers, ZPL for ZPLII (Zebra Printer Language) compatible label printers and Direct Protocol - Intermec printers.
DPI
The resolution of the printer.
Normally it is sufficient to email via an email server, that is reachable from the InterFormNG2 host, but if necessary you can also setup InterFormNG2 to use mail servers, that are only reachable via a remote client.
When you setup an email server in InterFormNG2, you can refer to a remote client via the location ID of the client.
For actual emailing you can e.g. use the Create PDF email component in the workflow.
It is possible to save output files (e.g. PDF files) on remote servers via remote clients. If you want to do that, then you simply need to first insert the workflow component: Remote output location and then generate and save the output file in the normal manner e.g. with the components Create PDF file or To filesystem.
In the Remote output location you refer to a remote server via the location ID of the remote client and the output path set in the output components refer to the path on the remote server, where the remote client is running.
